Step 1: Story Mode
Welcome back to the Demon Slayer Universe with The Hinokami Chronicles 2!! This game takes place immediately after the events of the first game, which last left off during the Mugen Train Arc. This time around, The Hinokmani Chronicles 2 will be covering three seasons' worth of content, including The Entertainment District, The Swordsmith Village Arc, The Hashira Training Arc, and a glimpse into the final arc of the series, The Infinity Castle Arc. To start your Demon Slaying Journey once more, you'll be playing through the Story Mode, where you will slowly be introduced to the remaining Hashira and slowly become stronger. As you play through each chapter, you will want to make sure to always aim for S-rank in the Battle sections, as it will make going for
All Chapters Rank S much easier. During specific bosses or crowd battles, it may be difficult to achieve an S-rank on your initial playthrough. If you fail to get an S-Rank, you will have to complete the entire chapter before you can go back and play specific sections of the chapter. Outside of battles are Adventure Sections, where you roam around and find collectibles scattered throughout the map, along with NPCs, who have subquests in almost every chapter. Prioritizing these collectibles and quests assists in getting
Never Forgotten,
A Helpful Hand, and
Hinokami Recordkeeper. Besides the battles and collectibles, there will be three minigames you will encounter, each with its own unique factor tied to specific sections in the story. If you wanted to go back and play any of the minigames, you would need to play through the entire chapter before you gain access to the minigame and its more advanced difficulty. In each of their dedicated trophy descriptions will be a video, showcasing the pattern of which buttons to press and the strategies that follow with the minigame. Now it's time to put those skills to work and prove yourself worthy of being called a Demon Slayer.

Step 2: Training Paths
It's Hashira training time! Here, you will be under the guidance of all nine Hashira. In this mode, you can pick any one of the nine Hashira you wish to train under and the selected difficulty. Once you have selected the Hashira and your preferred difficulty, your character(s) you've picked will spawn a grid of connecting tiles, with your spawn location being all the way to the left. Your goal is to work to the final tile to the far right, where you will fight your selected Hashira. There are only three kinds of tiles that you will encounter: A Healing Tile, A Reward Tile, and a Battle Tile. The Reward Tiles may be the most useful tile, since they will give you a random collectible tied to many of the collectible-related trophies. Since
All Paths Taken will require you to complete every Hashira Training on every difficulty, it's highly recommended to avoid as many fights as possible and take the route with the fewest battles to make each difficulty progress quicker. Complete all of the Hashira training, and you're good to progress to the next stage!
The First Step
All Paths Taken
Step 3: The Path of a Demon Slayer
Welcome to the second hardest mode in the game, The Path of a Demon Slayer. When you first launch into this mode, you will play through the events of the first game, specifically the six most notable fights from the Hinokami Chronicles 1. The main goal of this mode is to end every fight with an S-Rank, while making sure to hit all the QTEs (Quick Time Events). The difficulty upon first completion will be set to 'Normal Difficulty'. The first part of the mode is not too difficult, as the A.I.'s difficulty setting is fairly low. At most, it may take 3 or 4 tries if you are having difficulty reading the boss's moves and their skills. Once you have completed all of the fights in Normal difficulty, now is where the real challenge of this mode begins. To complete this stage, you must obtain an S-Rank on the 'Hard Difficulty', which has the A.I. at its highest difficulty setting, which is tied to
Trials Prevailed. Completing each fight with an S-Rank will take multiple attempts, so if you lose 10% of your HP, quit out of the match and restart until you have nearly all of your HP while doing persistent combos to earn extra points. For strategies on how to beat A.I. opponents with a higher difficulty setting, please refer to Introduction/Tips and Strategies, as it will greatly assist in making these trophies far easier. Upon completing both difficulties and obtaining S-Rank on every fight on Hard Difficulty, you're good to move forward to the next stage!

Step 4: Vs Mode
Welcome to the stage that has given most players difficulty when attempting to trophy hunt this game, VS Mode. The starting two trophies are fairly simple since both trophies immediately pop once you start any of the Endurance Match options. However, the only trophy that will need your full attention is
To the Death, as it requires the player to consecutively win against 100 enemies in a row in the Survival mode within Endurance Match. Despite the illusion of the trophy sounding straightforward, the difficulty of this trophy is no joke. The further you progress during the waves of opponents, the higher their difficulty rises. Additionally, the opponent's health and the damage they output are also increased, along with their difficulty. If you lose a single match, your game ends there, and you are forced to restart from Round 1 again. While you do get a small amount of HP at the end of winning a fight, it's not as much compared to the damage the A.I. opponents are outputting. This is a very punishing trophy and must be played a very specific way. To see the full strategy along with the recommended Gear, characters, and save-reloading options, please refer to
To the Death, as it will dramatically help you when going for this trophy. Once you have completed these trophies, you can rest easy knowing you have completed the most difficult stage of this guide, and you're good to move forward to the final stage!

Step 5: Character Mastery and Collectible Hunting
Welcome to the final stage, where all that remains is earning Mastery towards characters and going on a collectible hunt. Each playable character has a Master Level that goes as high as Level 99, but the Mastery-related trophies only require the characters to be at Level 5. For the best method to quickly level the 35 characters needed, please use the
Crows of a Feather trophy description to help out. Now the only obstacles left are all tied to collectibles, some of which were already obtained from your journey thus far. The remaining collectibles can be found inside the Kimetsu Points Shop, which can be viewed by pressing (
) and selecting the Shop. To achieve all of the collectible-tied trophies in this stage, you need a LOT of Kimetsu Points to make a dent in these trophies. For the fastest method to achieve several Kimetsu Points with little effort, please refer to

Map Key (Story Mode)
In the Story Mode, there will be a lot of collectibles and sidequests tied to numerous trophies, the further you progress in the game's story. For further context, head to the item in question's trophy description for more details. Here is the list of items and a brief description of their function:
Player - That's you!
Destination - These flags will tell you where the main objective in the mission area is located.
Subquest Goal - These flags are for sidequests you'll find in some chapters, and
A Helpful Hand is also tied to this.
Items - These item bags give you random rewards such as Profile Pictures, Quotes, Music Tracks, Decorations, and more.
Memory Fragments - These fragments will show you a character's backstory or memory that is not shown from your initial playthrough.
Collection - These are random objects found around the map that reminisce about a previous memory.
How to Win Against Any A.I. Opponents
When you're fighting in Story Mode, VS Mode, The Path of a Demon Slayer, and Training Path, there will always be an A.I. opponent that you will be fighting against. Although most of the fights in the earlier missions are pretty straightforward, the Advanced Difficulty sections of each mode will put your commitment to the test, as they will perform combo after combo on your character with very little effort. Therefore, it's recommended to know the best way to make every fight as easy as possible by explaining how to do so. Each character is different in both their abilities and combos, so keep in mind that specific combos or methods may not work with a different character you're playing as.
Utilize the Skill Gauge
In both the Hinokami Chronicles 1 and 2, every single playable character and enemy you fight against will have a Skill Gauge. The Skill Gauge has 5 Individual Bars, meaning you could use the Skill Gauge on 5 different occasions, either using a bar to Chase Dash the opponent or using one of your three skills. Each character will have up to 3 Skill Moves they can choose between by using (
) and pressing the button by itself, or using another button to pick the skill they want to use. Skills will not only do a lot of damage, but specific characters can spam multiple skills at once while having the enemy in a combo. However, once you run out of all your Skill Bars, you will be unable to perform any Skills or Chase Dashes. There are only three ways to restore your Skill Gauge:
1.
Let it refill slowly but surely while doing normal Light Attacks or running around/away from the opponent.
2.
Stand completely still, which will rapidly fill up your Skill Gauge, much quicker than #1.
3.
Use your Special Gauge (If charged to Level 1 or 2) and choose to Boost using (
), which will instantaneously give you all your Skill Bars.
Timing when you use a Skill Bar will make a drastic difference in how much damage you can output before a combo ends. The way you can determine how long you have until the combo potential ends is by looking for the circular timer towards the middle-left side of the screen. Depending on the color, it's how much time you have before the opponent can no longer be caught in a combo.
(Image of Circular Timer Variations)
Here's how each of these timers operates:
Red Timer: When presented with a Red Timer, you do not have any time to perform combos or attacks without the enemy dropping the combo due to timer exhaustion.
Yellow Timer: When presented with a Yellow Timer, you have the normal length of combo potential and will be the most frequent timer you'll see as you play through the game. You can attempt your combos without much punishment.
Green Timer: When presented with a Green Timer, you have the most time to perform multiple consecutive hits. The characters who have this timer only do so due to their base light combo being more consecutive hits, requiring more time to equal the damage of other characters with stronger outputs.
If you're capable of keeping an eye on the timer and managing when to use certain skills on the character of your choice, this will drastically increase your overall output of damage before the combo gets cut off.
Watching the Opponent's Movement
"I can read it! That filthy score of yours!" - Tengen Uzui: The Sound Hashira
As established in the earlier section, each character has three different Skills alongside one character-specific Ultimate Ability. While playing through the Story Mode or other miscellaneous modes, you'll start to recognize that some of their Skills are Short, Medium, or Long Range. In a few instances, characters will have a different outfit, but their skill set is the same as their original style, which is the case for Academy Tanjiro and Tanjiro Kamado. Although they are two differently named characters, their skills are identical, with the only notable difference being their Ultimate Ability and Animation attached.
The A.I. difficulty depends on the difficulty mode you're playing on or what section of the story you're on. However, the only aspect of their difficulty that changes is their aggressiveness and how long they can keep you in a combo. You are still able to make out what moves they can do by watching their skill bar and looking under their health bar to see the specific name of the Skill they are using.
Be sure to play patiently and observe how the enemy utilizes their skills or performs certain charge dashes. Each enemy will act slightly differently from others, so analyze them and read their score, as these will be one of the determining factors of the fight.
Mastering Combos
To absolutely obliterate an opponent in any fight, you have to do more damage to the opponent without letting them land many hits on you, if any. The best means to guarantee complete annihilation is to know the combos of the character you're playing. In Story Mode, you will be required to play as certain characters, which may make it harder to achieve S Rank in those later fights if you are unfamiliar with how they play.
Under The Essential Controls, there is a section called Normal Attacks, which goes into detail about every single possible Normal Attack variation any character can perform, from 1 hit to 4 hits. Although it's only labeled as a 4 Light-Hit Combo, it can be extended to an 18-Hit combo with ease.
For this example, Tanjiro Kamado is used as a reference. His plain 4-Hit Combo is performed as: (
,
,
,
). Instead of ending the combo there, if you press (
) immediately after hitting (
) for the fourth time, Tanjiro Kamado will Chase Dash at the opponent while mid-combo and be able to perform more combos on the enemy. Keep in mind that every time you Chase Dash mid-combo, it will cost 1 Skill Bar, but they can recover slowly but surely while you're doing the normal combo.
If you wanted to make your combo do even more damage, then combine one of your Light Combos with a Skill, and you'll be able to output a ton of damage. The only way an enemy could escape the mid-combo is by using their Support/Demon Gauge, which allows them to completely escape from the combo and reset their positions.
Now, for Tanjiro Kamado, a great combo to use for him would be (
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
). There are better combos that exist for different characters, so there is always room to clean up certain combos and improve the damage output.
Another method you can use to keep a combo going is by using a Switch Combo. This kind of combo can only work for playable characters that can have more than one person on a team. Demon Characters like Akaza and Rui can not bring another fighter on the same team. You'll mainly see this being possible to do for many Demon Slayers, Academy Slayers, and only two Demons. To perform this move, you must have your Support Gauge charged to at least one bar. Once you have that bar filled up, press (
+
) mid combo, and you'll be able to change fighters and reset the circular timer without resetting the combo.
For a further explanation regarding combo potential, how to combine other controls mid-combo, and different tactics applicable mid-right, it is recommended to watch the video below, as it will go over all of these aspects and techniques that'll assist your trophy hunting journey:

Visual Learning Reference
As a whole, from the Introduction/Tips and Strategies section of the guide, there are many in-depth details about the controls, the player's skill gauge, monitoring movement, and mastering the combos. By following these strategies and using them in-game, you can make a significant difference in the way you fight normally. While there are plenty of details to cover about how the game functions, it may be overwhelming to consume a large quantity of information without a visual reference to determine if you're performing skills correctly. As such, it is recommended to view the video as it covers all of the essentials in the game and how to utilize everything explained thus far. To find specific sections in the video that you want to learn, please use the timestamps to direct you to the specific section you need:

Additional Information
Tip #1: In the event you make a mistake when going for trophies like
To the Death, it's recommended to Disable Auto-Sync Saved Data, as you could not pause in time and cause you to reset your whole progression for the trophy.
Tip #2: While playing through the Story Mode and Training Path, try to find the character that you feel the most comfortable using and use them to help you through some of the more difficult sections you're bound to encounter.
Tip #3: Collect as many collectibles and Kimetsu Points while playing through each mode, as it's tied to multiple trophies once you begin tackling the Clean-up portion of the guide.

Tanjiro's Recovery
Complete Interlude 1: Tanjiro's Recovery.
Story
In this interlude, it is very short since most of the time here will be purely spent on recovering from the intense fighting in the previous chapters. While Tanjiro is asleep at the Butterfly Mansion, he dreams of himself talking to a Swordsman and shortly afterwards, wakes up crying. Once Aoi Kanzaki (not a playable character), a Demon Slayer who prioritizes helping within the Butterfly Mansion, notices that Tanjiro is awake, she tells him that he's been asleep for two months and will need to build his strength back up. Tanjiro was expecting a new sword to arrive while he was recovering; however, his sword maker, Haganezuka (not a playable character), outright refuses to make another sword for him. As a last effort, Tanjiro sends Kagaya Ubuyashiki (not a playable character), the head of the Demon Slayer Corps, a letter asking for his approval to go to Haganezuka directly to obtain his sword. After a couple of days pass, Tanjiro gets the approval to head to The Swordsmith Village, where, once explained in the cutscene, the trophy will pop upon the cutscene ending. Story
In this chapter, after finally getting Ubuyashiki's permission, Tanjiro heads off to The Swordsmith Village, the village where every swordsmith who crafts swords for the Demon Slayer Corps resides. There are many precautions taken to ensure the Village stays hidden from enemies and any demons, as the Swordsmiths themselves are unable to fight on par with Demon Slayers. Upon arriving at the village, Tanjiro meets Tecchin, the chief of the town, and is offered to relax at their Hot Spring. He heads to the Hot Spring, where he finds , Mitsuri Kanroji, running his way. She exclaims that someone was rudely ignoring her, which, when Tanjiro investigates, is another Demon Slayer named Genya Shinazugawa, who does not like Tanjiro in the slightest. Eventually, Mitsuri will reveal that a secret weapon exists within the village and leads you to investigate. With this information, Tanjiro will explore the surrounding area to find clues tied to this weapon, and he'll find , Muichiro Tokito, who forcefully took one of the swords from a mechanical Doll that Kotetsu manages. While talking with Kotetsu, it's discovered that his dream where he could be an inherited memory, and the doll he was working on was called the Yoriichi Type Zero. After Kotetsu has fixed up the Mechanical Doll, it will now become Tanjiro's training partner, with Kotetsu coaching him on the side through punishing challenges. Muichiro will quickly behead Hantengu, but to no effect, as he has now after being beheaded, Karaku and Sekido. Despite Muichiro attempting to quickly attack, Karaku uses a Wind Attack, which launches him flying far away from the fight, separating him from Tanjiro and Nezuko. Meanwhile, Muichiro recovers from the attack and finds Kotetsu, who was being attacked by a Fish Demon. Kotetsu tells him that another Swordsmith, Mr. Kanamori, is in trouble from similar Fish Demons as well and needs immediate assistance. After hearing the news, Muichiro begins fighting his way through Fish Demons who have invaded the forest near the Swordsmith Village, and eventually makes his way to Kanamori. Meanwhile, the inside of the village is also being attacked by similar Fish Demons, and Mitsuri Kanroji arrives on the scene to fight against the Fish Demons. She is informed that the village leader, Tecchin, is in trouble and must be assisted immediately. She fights her way through the crowds of Fish Demons and finally reaches Tecchin, where she encounters a Massive Monster-sized Fish Demon that she fights off. In the meantime, Muichiro gets caught off guard and gets trapped by Gyokko's Water Bubble, and begins to remember some of his lost memories. In a last-ditch effort, Toketsu saves Muichiro by . Although Tanjiro tries to save Nezuko, she instead uses her Blood Demon Art on his sword to be engulfed in Exploding Blood to fight against three of the Four Emotion Demons. When fighting as Tanjiro, the damage done to Kraku and Urogi will not matter, as they will respawn with their full HP. As a result, Tanjiro must focus on doing any damage to Sekido to make any progress in the fight. At the end of the fight, Tanjiro will successfully behead the Three Emotion Demons, with the Fourth Emotion being beheaded by Genya. Although all Four Emotions were beheaded, they were still talking and moving around, with Tanjiro concluding that there was that he briefly caught the smell of. Before the Four Emotion Demons regenerated, Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya head to the Northeast to find that was a smaller form of Hantengu. Tanjiro is about to behead Hantengu, until he senses an evil presence directly behind him, and Nezuko jumps in at the last second to save him from being killed. Battle at the Abandoned Castle
Complete Lost Passage: Battle at the Abandoned Castle.
Story
In this section, you're playing from the point of view of Sanemi Shinazugawa, , and Obanai Iguro, . The two Hashira were given a task to investigate an old, worn-down castle, as there were rumors of some demons using the castle as a temporary hideout. However, once they approach the inside of the castle, it is not some demons, but rather a whole horde of demons who have gathered inside this castle. The thought of having this many demons swarming together in a pack was something that both Hashira had never seen before. Sanemi and Obanai begin to fight their way inside the castle, killing any demons they come across, no matter the size. Eventually, the two of them begin to scale the castle's tower to finish off the remaining demon, when they are suddenly shocked in bewilderment. Right as they crossed the tower, they saw a confusing atmosphere to make sense of. They attempt to kill one of the demons, but they vanish as quickly as appeared. Sanemi and Obanai are both left speechless by what they saw, ending the section, and the trophy will pop up shortly afterwards. Story
Hashira Training Summary - Part 1
In this chapter, the Hashira hold a meeting to discuss the events that unfolded in The Swordsmith Village and discuss what plans to make moving forward with Nezuko, now , being a prime target for Muzan Kibutsuji. Due to the lack of time before Muzan makes a move, the Hashira all agree on a Hashira Training Course for all of their Corps Members, as a means to quickly improve their skills as Demon Slayers. Although the Hashira training had started, Giyu Tomioka, , refused to assist, and Tanjiro, still sustaining heavy injuries, chased after Giyu until he eventually agreed to take part in the training. After some days pass, Tanjiro will fully recover and will finally begin the Hashira Training. The first trial is under Tengen Uzui, the Former Sound Hashira, who has after his previous fight in the Entertainment District. Tengen's trial was to improve each slayer's overall stamina, which Tanjiro will pass with flying colors due to his previous training and encounters with Upper Ranks, so Tengen sends him along to the next Hashira. The next trial involves Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, who is excited to see Tanjiro fully recovered from the fight in the village. Michiro's trial consisted of mastering agility and knowing what moves are excessive. After training with Muchiro, he informs Tanjiro that he has passed his trial, as Tanjiro's moves were very polished compared to their first encounter, so he moves on to the next Hashira. The next trial is from Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, whose trial involves training to improve their flexibility. There is a minigame introduced during this Adventure Section titled "Kanroji's Hellish Flexibility Training", which will be explained further in
Catlike Reflexes, so the score you get on initial playthrough does not matter. Once you complete the minigame, she will consider your training with her completed and send you to the next Hashira. The next trial is from Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira, whose trial involves training their swordsmanship. Although his training was still in progress, later that night, Tanjiro found Obanai and Muichiro training with each other to hone their skills. Muichiro allows Tanjiro to train with him and Obanai for a quick sparring session before the night ends, closing Part 1 of Chapter 8. Hashira Training Summary - Part 2
The following day, Tanjiro has concluded his training with Obanai and sends him off to train with the next Hashira, which is Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira. Despite his efforts, Tanjiro and the other Demon Slayer Corps Members are having quite the difficulty keeping up with the Wind Hashira and their continuously heavy attacks during training. While recovering from the training, Tanjiro hears a conversation between Genya and Senami Shinazugawa, and after a comment Genya made, Senami almost poked his own brother's eyes out if Tanjiro had not intervened. Due to Tanjiro's interference with Sanemi's brother, he from their Hashira training and must make his way to the next Hashira. The next trial Tanjiro must tackle is from the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, which his training prioritizes building a robust lower body, as it will lead to unwavering defense and accurate attacks. Himejima's training consists of three tasks: Cold Plunging in the Waterfall, Lift Three Logs bundled together, and Push a Boulder 'one cho' (357.9 Feet) from where it stands. Slowly but surely, Tanjiro completes each one of these tasks, with the last remaining challenge being the boulder. There is a minigame introduced during this Adventure Section titled "Himejina's Strength Training", which will be explained further in
A Strong Core, so the score you get on initial playthrough does not matter. With one last push, Tanjiro will now have completed all three of Himejima's tasks, while gaining his respect in the process, allowing him to move on to the final Hashira. After completing nearly every training obstacle in your way, now only one Hashira remains to train with Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira. This final trial meant the most to Tanjiro as Giyu was the person who set him on the path of the Demon Slayer. In this trial, it's only a duel between Tanjiro and Giyu at his full power, to truly see how far Tanjiro has advanced. As the fight progresses, Tanjiro gets flashbacks to how he was before at the start of the series. Despite the battle being tough, Tanjiro, giving all of his effort, breaks Giyu's wooden sword, making Tanjiro the winner. With Giyu's defeat, Tanjiro has now completed the Hashira training. The final moments of this chapter show Kagaya Ubuyashiki (not a playable character), Head of the Demon Slayer Corps, being confronted by at his own mansion, with the Hashira and Demon Slayers charging as fast as possible towards the mansion. Right as all the Hashira were about to simultaneously attack him, he grins, as , making all of them , which had been previously seen by Sanemi and Obanai in the previous chapter. All Chapters Rank S
Achieve Chapter Rank S in every chapter.
Difficulty Related
This trophy will unlock once you score an S-Rank on every chapter in the Story Mode. At the end of every fight in the Story Mode, the game will present you with a grade in the bottom right corner of the screen, displaying your overall performance. The best possible grade you could achieve is an S-Rank, which involves you getting multiple combos on the opponent while taking minimal damage from them. Depending on the opponent and the character you have to use for specific sections, it may be challenging to get an S-Rank in one try on initial playthrough. Since most characters follow the same combos, the best combination of moves to use is: (
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
) . This combination applies to nearly every character in the game, including the characters you play as in the campaign. If you need a further guide explaining the specific mechanics of the game and other combo possibilities, please read through the Introduction/Tips and Strategies section for a full breakdown. During the boss fight sections, some enemies will have super armor and will not get stunned by the combo. Additionally, these boss fights will have large-scale attacks that affect the entire stage arena, so be sure to dodge and maneuver your way around each obstacle that gets thrown your way. Some Bosses (In the Story Mode) will have remaining HP despite doing a final blow, as this will start a QTE (Quick Time Event) where you must hit the correct buttons at the right time, and doing so will increase your rank even further.
Never Forgotten
Obtain every memory fragment.
Collectible
Memory Fragments can be discovered in the Story Mode, where viewing them will show you a cutscene of events happening in the background of a story arc or tied to a flashback of specific characters you'll play as in each chapter. These Fragments can be obtained by collecting them during the Adventure Sections and by completing specific battles during the Story Mode. There are a total of 25 Memory Fragments that can be obtained, and each of the collectable locations can be seen under the trophy description for each chapter-related trophy.
A Helpful Hand
Clear every subquest.
Subquests can be found through random chapters as you play the Story Mode. The quest aspect can vary from making a meal for a Demon Slayer Corps Member to fetching a Paper Airplane from on top of a roof. There are a total of 15 Subquests that can be completed, and the locations of them can be found in each of the chapter trophy descriptions. Make sure to look at your map by using (
) it to ensure you don't miss any Subquests before moving to the next area.
Hinokami Recordkeeper
Complete the Hinokami Records.
Collectible
As you play throughout each chapter, you'll find a book icon on the map, which will lead you to a Hinokami Record. Unlike the Items and Memory Fragments, the shape of each Hinokami Record will always be different, as they are tied to a different memory from the character you control. In the photo provided below, the Record found on "Chapter 1: Infiltrating the Entertainment District" happened to be a Basket of Charcoal, which will remind Tanjiro of his time before he had joined the Demon Slayer Corps and recall his memories from those days. You will have to rely on the map icon to tell when you are near a Hinokami Record, as the physical shape will always be different compared to the map icon. There are a total of 25 Hinokami Records you can collect in your playthrough, and their locations can be found under the trophy descriptions for each chapter.

As you play through "Chapter 1: Infiltrating the Entertainment District", you'll eventually reach an Adventure Section with Zenitsu, where you will have to play a minigame called "Zenko's Shamisen Jams". On your first initial playthrough, the difficulty of the minigame will be set to Beginner. After you complete the chapter, hover over the minigame on the Chapter 1 screen and select the Advanced Difficulty. This will be much harder than the first playthrough, but the notes are always the same, so it's easy to memorize the notes the more attempts you have. Unlike the previous minigame, this has the rotation of notes prelined up so that you can see what notes are going to be coming next. Since this is the first introduction of the minigame, the base difficulty will be set to Beginner. Once you have completed the chapter, head to the minigame on the Chapter 8 screen and select the Advanced Difficulty. In the Final Chapter, Hashira training (Chapter 8 - Part 2), Tanjiro will be on his second-to-last Hashira training, which involves the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima. During his training, you'll eventually get to this final task, which is to move a giant boulder one cho (357.9 feet). Once you get to this section, you'll be introduced to a minigame called "Himejima's Strength Training". This minigame is the most unique as it will have you time your button presses to build up energy, and once you have filled the energy bar, you have to spam (

Once you have completed the chapter, head to the minigame on the Final Chapter screen and select the Advanced Difficulty. To the Death
Defeat 100 opponents in Survival.
Grindy
While the S-Rank sections in the previous modes have their fair share of difficulty with timing your attacks and playing cautiously, the Survival mode is more extreme, due to the enemies' scaling attack and increased A.I. difficulty the further you progress. The early rounds of Survival will have lower difficulty A.I., making it fairly easy to defeat them without much trouble. After every round you win, you will earn a small amount of HP before starting the next round; It's not much HP, but it will help for the later rounds. Once you reach Round 30, the A.I. difficulty will increase, along with their damage and how long they will perform combos. As you make it to the higher rounds, the enemy damage will be so high that a simple Throw performed on you will remove nearly HALF OF YOUR HP! The whole process will take you several hours and will test both your patience and overall skill. Suppose you are looking to complete this trophy without using save-scumming. In that case, it is recommended to use the Introduction/Tips and Strategies section to help improve your gameplay and overall skill ceiling.
Suspending the Game, Recommended Gear, and Best Character
Suspending the Game
If you decide to pause the game and select "Suspend the Match", you can return to the Main Menu to play other modes. However, the point you return to is exactly when you paused during the match, meaning whatever HP you lost or the enemy lost will remain the same. It will not reset the whole Survival Mode; it only returns you to the round you last achieved when suspended.
Recommended Gear
The Hinokami Chronicles 2 has a wide variety of different equippable gear. You can either equip three low-tier pieces of gear or equip one low-tier piece with one high-tier piece, which takes up two slots. The gear you equip also depends on the character you choose, as some pieces of gear are specific to Demons and Humans. For this mode, the two pieces of gear you will equip include: "Timely Reversal" and "Skill 3 Power Up":
Timely Reversal: Activates when you have less HP than the opponent. The rate at which the special gauge fills will increase. This effect ends once you have more HP than the opponent.
Skill 3 Power UP: Activates after using Skill 3 three times. The power of Skill 3 will increase until you get hit. Does not trigger when using skills during Surge. This effect carries over to the next round.
Recommended Gear
The best character to use for the highest success rate is Akaza, as his third skill, "Technique Development, Destructive Death: Compass Needle", is easily the best move that will carry you throughout every round. Once you use the Skill, Akaza will spawn a giant snowflake on the ground, and if the enemy steps into its range, it will automatically cause Akaza to attack them. The only way they can avoid getting hit by the Skill is if the opponent guards just before Akaza moves in time. Since Akaza is a Demon, Demons have an additional bonus when you use (
) to Boost, it will slowly recover your HP, so make sure to plan when to use the special gauge. For reference on how to play as Akaza and how to utilize his Skills, please use the video below to show the proper playstyle and pointers that will help out:

How to Reset a Round without Losing HP
Before the Free Muzan Kibutsuji DLC was added to the game, you were able to suspend the match, and if you went to resume the game, you would regain all of your HP while the opponent's HP kept the damage. After the update, this method is no longer viable, as it will now keep both players' HP exactly as it was when paused. While using 'Cloud Saving' is a possible method to use to prevent a complete loss, the process of reuploading the same save on multiple occasions is very time-consuming, so it's best to use it as an Emergency Back-Up Save, which will be explained in the next section. There is another method that now allows you to reset the round itself, without losing HP or requiring you to restart the entire survival:
Step #1: When in the midst of a round, if you lose too much HP or want to reset the round, hit (
) to pause the match.
Step #2: Hold the (
) button until you are brought back to the PS5 Home Screen.
Step #3: Press (
) while hovering over the game, and select Close Game.
Step #4: After the game completely closes, open the game and head back to the Survival Mode, where you will see your already existing run, showing what your starting HP was when you first entered that round.
Important: The only downside will be that your Skill Gauge will spawn with barely any bar, so you will have to run around and dodge the enemy while waiting for the bar to fill back up.
Emergency Back-Up Save
NOTE: The Back-Up Save Method will utilize 'Cloud Storage', which you must be an active PS+ Subscriber to use for any game.
Suppose you were not fast enough to pause the game while in the higher Rounds, and you end up losing the Survival. In that case, there is an available method to assist in recovering to a fairly similar Round without resetting from Round 1, which is through 'Cloud Saving'. This specific method is available only to PS+ Subscribers, as it allows you to upload your Save Data to a separate storage, in the event the console data ever gets corrupted. However, for saving and preventing your Survival Run from being lost, this will act as a backup storage from when you last transferred your data. Please follow the steps below to properly utilize the Emergency Back-Up Save for your game:
Step #1: From the Playstation Home Screen, head to the PS5 Settings located at the top left of the screen, then scroll towards the bottom of the settings and select "Saved Data and Game/App Settings".
Step #2: Choose "Saved Data (PS5)" and select "Sync Saved Data". Afterwards, you'll want to make sure that "Auto-Sync Saved Data" is set to Disabled. (This will allow you to manually control when you want to save a specific checkpoint in a game)
Step #3: Once you have adjusted the "Auto-Sync Saved Data", proceed to play Survival mode until you reach a point that you feel comfortable saving at.
Step #4: After finding a preferred area to save, pause the game, and hold the (
) button until you're at the PS5 Home Screen. From there, hover over the game, press (
), and select "Upload/Download Saved Data".
Step #5: Hover over the Console Storage and select "Upload", which will close out the app, but you will not lose your progress.
Step #6: Relaunch the game and proceed to play where you last left off in Survival. If you end up failing to pause in time and lose the Survival, head to "Upload/Download Saved Data", and this time, hover over the "Cloud Storage" and select "Download". This will download the save file that you manually downloaded previously, and bring you back to that exact spot where you saved.
Despite bringing you back to the exact moment in the fight, similar to the How to Reset a Round without Losing, your Skill Gauge will spawn with barely any bar, so you will have to run around and dodge the enemy while waiting for the bar to fill back up.
Every Fight from #1 - #100
Since there are 100 fights, there are many different opponents, each with annoying mechanics or dangerous attacks to get caught in. One of these annoying characters includes Gyutaro, who uses Poison Attacks that will poison your character over time. Knowing what fights to expect will drastically help you in saving your Special Meter for more difficult fights as you progress further in rounds. Trials Prevailed
Achieve an S rank for every battle in The Path of a Demon Slayer on advanced difficulty.
Difficulty Related
The Path of a Demon Slayer has you play through six of the most memorable, iconic fights from the first game. To unlock "Advanced Difficulty", you must play through the "Intermediate Difficulty", which has the A.I. on a much lower difficulty setting. Unlike the previous difficulty, the A.I. in this mode is on the highest difficulty setting and will be more persistent in attacking the player. Since the enemy is set to its highest difficulty, you have to time your attacks, watch their attack pattern, and how much Skill Gauge they have left to determine when to charge in. For specific strategies when fighting against advanced A.I. opponents, please refer to the Introduction/Tips and Strategies, as it will provide many noteworthy details that will heavily increase your fighting skills. Below is a list of all the enemies you will sequentially encounter in this mode:
What Makes a Demon Slayer

Grindy
NOTE: Enemy Demons can not be used in the 'Training Paths' mode, such as Rui, Muzan Kibutsuji, and Akaza
This will be the second most grind-heavy, as you have to undergo training for each Hashira and complete all difficulty options from each Hashira. In the Main Menu, scroll all the way to the right, and you'll want to select "Training Paths". In this mode, you'll be training under the Hashira of your choice and slowly make your way to fight them from a generated grid that spawns. Choose one of the Hashira you wish to train under and select from Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. The higher the difficulty, the more spaces will spawn, and you will have to work through more fights to reach the Hashira. Once you have reached the Hashira, defeat him in battle, and after receiving your battle rank, the trophy will shortly pop up afterwards. In total, there are 9 Hashira you must train with, and each with three difficulty options, meaning you will have to run through 27 individual stages. The number of fights you encounter depends on the difficulty you select and the path that you take, due to the branching tiles presented at the start of the stage. On some of the tiles, you'll see a 'Reward Tile' and 'Reward Tile (Key)', which act very similarly to the Items collectibles that you can pick up in the Story Mode. These Reward Tiles can give you most of the rewards found in the Kimestu Point Shop. The only difference from the Reward Tile (Key) is that you must go to a Tile with a Key and complete the Bonus Mission to obtain the Key to unlock the Reward Tile (Key). The other optional tiles you could land on are 'Healing Tiles', which recover 80% of your HP, and 'Battle Tiles', which you'll have to fight against an A.I. opponent. Due to how many stages there are, it's best to simultaneously make progress on
Crows of a Feather, as you'll be able to increase your mastery for the two characters you use upon completing each difficulty for every Hashira. The fights themselves aren't too terrible since most of them can be avoided by aiming for Reward Tiles and Healing Tiles.
A Discovered Affinity
Improve mastery of 5 characters to at least 5.
For further context regarding this trophy, please refer to
Crows of a Feather for more information.
Crows of a Feather
Improve mastery of 35 characters to at least 5.
Grindy
This is the third most grind-heavy trophy, as you'll have to level up nearly every character to Level 5. Thankfully, the grind for this trophy is not too terrible, as most of the progress for this trophy will be earned from playing the "Story Mode" and "Training Paths". To increase the Mastery of each character, you level them up through battles, and the amount of XP you earn depends on your Battle Rank, given at the end of every battle. Ideally, you should be aiming for S-Rank every time, as it gives the most amount of XP. Once you have completed the Story Mode, you'll have numerous versions of Tanjiro already at Level 5 or above, along with Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko. As you play through Training Paths, it's recommended to play different character(s) that aren't Mastery Level 5 to make progress towards this trophy. However, if you want the quickest and most efficient method, it would be fighting the CPU. Head to "VS Mode", choose "vs. CPU", and set the difficulty of the CPU to "Very Easy". Afterwards, select the character(s) you wish to increase the mastery of and aim for an S-Rank. Within a couple of minutes, you'll have the character(s) all Mastery Level 5. Repeat the matches as many times as needed, until you have all 35 characters reach that threshold.
First-Time Shopper
Make a purchase at the Kimetsu Points Shop for the first time.
As you progress playing any mode of your choice, you will earn "Kimetsu Points", which will allow you to purchase numerous items from the "Kimetsu Points Shop". Once you have collected a fair amount of Kimetsu Points, purchase either a 'Quote' or a 'Profile Photo', as those are the cheapest items to buy.
Grinding for Gear
Collect 40 pieces of gear.
Collectible
Gear can be obtained from playing the Story Mode, along with some being purchased from the "Kimetsu Points Shop". Some of the Gear will be unlocked by completing specific chapter sections, which can then be equipped to the 'Story Mode Gear' as you progress in the Story. Outside of the Story Mode, the remaining pieces of gear can be obtained by purchasing them from the Kimetsu Point Shop. The total cost to purchase every piece of Gear is 20,000 Kimetsu Points, which could be lower depending on how many collectibles you've obtained thus far. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Gift of Gab
Collect 21 system voice banks (excluding add-ons).
Collectible
At the start of every match, you'll hear the announcer talk at the start and the end of every match, which is the "System Voice Bank". You can collect a few of these by collecting items during the "Training Paths" or by purchasing them directly from the "Kimetsu Points Shop". To set a specific Voice Bank, press (
), select "Archives", and choose "System Voices". From there, press (
) on the character whom you wish to have become the new announcer. The total cost to obtain every System Voice Bank is 10,500 Kimetsu Points. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Tell Me More
Collect 300 quotes (excluding add-ons).
Collectible
Quotes can be applied to your Slayer ID, which can be viewed by pressing (
) and selecting "Slayer ID". As for how to obtain Quotes, they can be collected from playing the "Story Mode", "Vs Mode", and "Training Paths". The Quotes specifically will be the second most expensive trophy, tied with
Picture Perfect, as it requires 30,000 Kimetsu Points to purchase 300 Quotes. For the remaining Quotes that you have yet to unlock, purchase them from the "Kimestu Points Shop". For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
In Sync
Collect 55 music tracks (excluding add-ons).
Collectible
Music Tracks can be obtained from playing the "Story Mode" and "Training Paths". These Music Tracks can be played from the "Archives" in the Game Menu by pressing (
). While most of the tracks will be unlocked through playing the Story Mode and gathering the collectibles, there will be a small number of Music Tracks that will have to be purchased from the "Kimetsu Points Shop". The total cost to purchase every Music Track would be 11,000 Kimetsu Points, which could be lower, depending on how many collectibles you've obtained thus far. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Stamp of Approval
Collect 94 stamps.
Collectible
Stamps are situationally specific, as these stamps are mainly used inside of Chats seen in 'Group Rooms' from the "Online Match". These stamps are a bit more uncommon compared to other items from the "Kimetsu Points Shop". You may be able to obtain them by opening up the 'Reward Tile (Key)' from the "Training Paths", but it's a bit difficult to guarantee that you get a stamp due to it being 300 Kimetsu Points. The total cost to purchase every Stamp is 28,200 Kimetsu Points. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Set Your Heart A-Frame!
Collect 30 Slayer ID Frames.
Collectible
Slayer ID Frames can be used on your Slayer ID under the Game Menu by pressing (
). The Slayer ID Frames are the same price as the "System Voice Banks", which are 500 Kimetsu Points. Due to it being a higher-priced item, it's very unlikely you will find these from a random Item collectible in the "Story Mode" or "Training Paths". The best approach is to save up your Kimetsu Points you've accumulated over playing the modes until you have enough to purchase each frame. The total cost to purchase the 30 Slayer ID Frames is 15,000 Kimetsu Points. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Picture Perfect
Collect 300 profile photos (excluding add-ons).
Collectible
Profile Photos can be equipped on your Slayer ID, which you can edit by pressing (
), selecting "Slayer ID", and choosing "Edit Slayer ID". These Profile Photos can be obtained from the "Story Mode", "VS Mode", "Training Paths", as well as leveling up a character's Mastery to Level 2. As you progress throughout the game, it will be highly likely that you have a handful of Profile Photos by the time you complete the Story Mode, with the remaining photos tied to other modes or Character Mastery. The total cost to obtain the 300 Profile Photos is 30,000 Kimetsu Points, similar in cost to
Tell Me More, which could be lower depending on how many collectibles you've obtained thus far. For specific methods to earn Kimetsu Points the quickest, please refer to
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations for more information.
Perfect, Beautiful Decorations
Collect 133 decorations (excluding add-ons).
Collectible
Decorations can be placed on your Slayer ID to give your ID more style, which you can edit by pressing (
), selecting "Slayer ID", and then choosing "Edit Slayer ID". Most of the decorations that you will find are attached to "Story Mode", "VS Mode", and "Training Paths", with the remaining decorations being accessible through purchasing them in the Kimetsu Points Shop. The total cost to purchase the 133 Decorations is 39,000 Kimetsu Points, the most expensive trophy by far, which could be lower depending on how many collectibles you've obtained thus far.
Quickest Method to Obtain Tons of Kimetsu Points
Due to the 'Hinokami Chronicles 2' having a ton of collectible-related trophies, you will need as many Kimetsu Points to make some serious progression towards each of these trophies. While you could choose to repeat battles or boss fights on repeat, it will not provide many Kimetsu Points and takes quite some time to complete each encounter. The best method, by far, is to use the Adventure Mode and choose a very specific Chapter and Section to maximize your Kimetsu Points as fast as possible.
Step #1: Select "Story Mode" and Head to 'Chapter 2: The Demon of the Entertainment District'.
Step #2: Choose the Adventure Mission, "A Disturbance", and Skip the Cutscene
Step #3: Use the photo below to see every spawn location for Kimetsu Points, as this map has the highest spawn rate of Kimetsu Points compared to the other Adventure Sections. In total, by collecting every Kimetsu Point in this area, you will have collected 4,200 Kimetsu Points.
Step #4: Once you have collected all the Kimetsu Points in the area, press (
) to pause the game, select "Return to Storyline", and keep loading back into the mission until you have collected the desired number of Kimetsu Points you need.
Unparalleled Strength

NOW, you can consider yourself worthy in the eyes of the Hashira! Congratulations on completing your journey, Demon Slayer, and thank you for using this as your go-to guide for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2!
