Conquering the Apocalypse Challenge on Sunny Meadows (Full) is the ultimate test of survival, map mastery, and zero-evidence deduction. The challenge rewards badges based on your custom multiplier.
Tips, Tricks, and Practice Strategy
- Grind for Tier III Equipment First. Do not attempt this without unlocking your Tier III gear (specifically the Parabolic Microphone, Incense, and Head Gear). The Tier III Parabolic Mic is essential for pinpointing audio cues and ghost locations across the massive asylum wings without wandering blindly.
- Master Sunny Meadows (Restricted) before tackling the full map. Practice regular and custom runs on Sunny Meadows Restricted to learn the layout, sounds, door placements, and general navigation in the dark.
- Establish a Safe Staging Zone. Haul all necessary items (smudge sticks, photo camera, crucifixes, motion sensors) right inside the front gates or just past the chapel entrance. Do not make long, unprotected treks back to the van once the investigation begins.
- Track Hunt Timers: Use an external stopwatch or phone timer. Because sanity is permanently at 0% and evidence is disabled, you need to strictly time hunts to know when it is safe to move or attempt a photo.
- Abuse Safe Spots & Line-of-Sight Blockers. Use furniture such as the cots, chapel piano, or specific hallway dividers to break line-of-sight during hunts.
- Leverage Tier I Smudge Sticks. Tier III incense is heavily favored for this challenge because it forces the ghost to run blindly away at maximum speed, giving you immediate breathing room without complex looping mechanics.
What Ghosts You Want to Farm For
Because you are playing with zero evidence, you must identify the ghost entirely through behavior, hunt speeds, blinking patterns, and audio cues. When resetting for a good run, look for these specific "gimme" ghosts:
1. Deogen: The absolute best ghost to get. During a hunt, a Deogen will sprint directly at you at maximum speed, but it slows down to an absolute crawl when it gets right next to you. If you hear heavy footsteps screeching to a slow crawl near you, it’s a Deogen instantly.
2. Revenant: Easily identifiable by its speed shift. When it doesn't see you, it moves like a snail (slower than normal). The moment it catches a line of sight on you, it becomes terrifyingly fast. As long as you keep line-of-sight broken, it's very easy to spot.
3. Hantu: Listen to its speed during hunts and watch for its breath if you manage to freeze the room (though this is harder on a large map). Its constant speed changes tied to temperature or its distinct fast hunt profile give it away.
4. Moroi / Thaye: Both feature extreme, distinct baseline speeds. A Thaye starts fast and ages/slows down over time, while a Moroi is consistently much faster than a standard ghost and curses your sanity drain. Their velocity makes them stand out immediately compared to a standard-speed ghost.
5. Phantom: If you try to snap a photo of the ghost during a ghost event and it instantly disappears while keeping the event going without static on your screen, it's a Phantom.
Good luck, and godspeed!
