What is Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle?
'Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle' is one of the most popular Dragon Ball IP games, where you can summon characters across the franchise, from the original 'DRAGON BALL' to as recent as 'DRAGON BALL DAIMA'. You can build your own custom teams to take on challenging foes, with combat centered around "Ki Spheres" scattered throughout the screen, where you must find the right path to maximize your characters' power in battle. With enough Ki Spheres collected, your character can unleash a 'Super Attack', while higher-rarity characters can unleash an 'Ultra Super Attack'.Relive the series story or play through Quest Mode for a new story involving a bit of time travel and some familiar faces along the way.
What is the 'Global Dokkan Campaign'?
Every year, specifically around August-September, the developers hold a massive campaign on both the International Version and the Japanese Version at the same time, with new summonable characters that exceed prior characters up to that point in the game's history. These versions were released on different dates, meaning a joint celebration across both versions was an extremely rare occurrence. Since the Japanese version was released first, the International version would be roughly six months behind its schedule. Originally, these celebrations would be dubbed as 'Worldwide Celebration', with an inclusion of how many downloads they had reached overall. However, in 2024, the producers would officially announce the synchronization of both versions to enjoy newly released content at the same time. Afterwards, the celebration would be dubbed the 'Global Dokkan Campaign' and the content that would follow was on par with the game's Anniversary Campaigns. In anticipation of this year's Global Dokkan Campaign, one of the producers for the game, named "GEPPY", would describe this campaign as "an even more powered-up version of the September Global Dokkan Campaign". While this statement alone might have seemed like a small comment, the content for this campaign would be exactly as they described.
Recap of Part 1 - Planet Namek Saga
Before the second part of the Campaign was announced, the theme for the first part was "Planet Namek Saga", with a new summonable 'PHYFrieza (Final Form)' and 'AGLSuper Saiyan Goku'! Players were especially excited to see a new Dokkan Fest Frieza character, as this particular form of Frieza has never had a Dokkan Festival yet, to represent that point in the arc. Meanwhile, Goku would be in his Super Saiyan form as a 'Carnival Character', which is equally as powerful.

During this part of the Celebration, there were a lot of new F2P (Free-to-Play) characters that players can earn by completing in-game events, with other characters receiving "Extreme Z-Awakenings" or "Super Extreme Z-Awakenings", which can power up the unit's abilities even further to match the current meta of the game.

The content for the first week of the campaign was explosive, but the second week would be fairly quiet, which players now knew it was directly tied to the reveal of Part 2.
Global Dokkan Campaign - Part 2: The Cell Saga Begins
After a video teaser for Part 2 was posted by the official Dokkan Battle X account, the ending of the teaser would have the voice of Perfect Cell, confirming the next part to be themed around the "Cell Saga". The featured characters would be a Dokkan Festival 'STR Super Saiyan Gohan (Youth)' and a Carnival 'TEQ Perfect Cell'.

New F2P Character Details
Outside of the summonable characters tied to spending 'Dragon Stones' (Premium Currency), they have also released a full team of free characters, specifically a Cell Jr. team accounting for each type (STR, AGL, TEQ, INT, & PHY) through the event called 'Scout Battle [Cell Jr]'.

Introduced before the start of the Global Dokkan Campaign was a new game mode called 'Dokkan Frontier', also referred to as 'Survival', which changed gameplay from bringing one team into battle to using two teams, where you have to utilize both teams to win the fight. With the release of Part 2, they added a map themed around "Androids/Cell Saga", where it plays through the beginning of the arc and slowly builds up to the arc finale.

Alongside the new map, two new F2P (Free-to-Play) characters arrive that can easily be earned by clearing "Node 2 "Androids/Cell Saga" in Dokkan Frontier!": STRDr. Gero and INTSpy Robot. These characters can be used in this mode and outside of Dokkan Frontier to take on other events.
Make sure to earn these characters, as they can be extremely useful for category-specific missions tied to "Android/Cell Saga", as they will reward you with more Dragon Stones for more summoning!
New Extreme Z-Awakenings
Despite the new releases, the "Android/Cell Saga" Category still requires a bit more assistance with characters, as the category has not been buffed for several months and can cause some challenge when taking on category-specific missions. Thankfully, they had announced two new Extreme Z-Awakenings to help expand the team options and make the category generally stronger: TEQSuper Saiyan Trunks (Teen) and STRCell (2nd Form).
These characters received a substantial buff with their Extreme Z-Awakening and are easily a must-run option on any "Android/Cell Saga" team.
New Events + Added Stages
Below are a handful of the current ongoing events added with the release of Part 2, and they provide ample benefits, from increased Link Level Stages to new challenge events. As the Campaign continues throughout the month, players should complete these events to build up their box and improve their character's strength with the new difficult content approaching.

Will there be a Part 3?
Fans are speculating that this Campaign will have a Part 3, and the theme must be "Majin Buu Saga". The origin of this theory is due to how the content was before this Campaign started , which was themed around the "Saiyan Saga", the first ever arc of 'DRAGON BALL Z'.Once the Campaign officially began, Part 1 was the "Planet Namek Saga", and Part was the "Android/Cell Saga". Based on the thematic build-up for this Campaign, the natural conclusion players have reached is that this entire Campaign is meant to cover all the major story arcs in 'DRAGON BALL Z'. The only arc left that has not been touched around this thematic Campaign is the "Majin Buu Saga" and the one character that fans have been desperately awaiting the release of is an LR Kid Buu, which is the ONLY major villain in the series who does not have an LR.From the overall concept of the Campaign and the emphasis thus far on the iconic arcs in the series, it is safe to assume that there will be a Part 3, especially considering the main producer claimed this Campaign would be "an even more powered-up version of the September Global Dokkan Campaign". Whether players decide to save their stones for the banner or spend them on the current banner is entirely up to them.
