Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 is being removed from COD HQ, releasing as a standalone game for PS5/PS4
In a recent announcement from @CODUpdates, it states that "Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6" will be released as a standalone title, similar to Call of Duty®: MWII and "Call of Duty®: MWIII". However, it does mean that this title will also be removed from "COD HQ", leaving achievement hunters curious if the trophies attached to COD HQ will be unattainable.

Black Ops 6 set to be removed from "Call of Duty: HQ"
On July 5th, 2026, an X user (formerly known as Twitter) known as @CODUpdates, whose posts weekly updates regarding anything Call of Duty-related, made a recent post that grabbed the attention of readers. The post read that on "July 7th at 9 AM PT", 'Call of Duty®: Black Ops6' will be separated from COD HQ and will be released as a standalone title.
Call of Duty Updates's post mentioning transition to Standalone Release
The removal of these games and their release becoming standalone titles has actually happened before on July 29th, 2025, with the titles 'Call of Duty®: MWII' and 'Call of Duty®: MWIII' being removed entirely from COD HQ to increase their storage for the upcoming title later that year. Since these titles will no longer be attached to COD HQ, that also means those games will no longer be accessible to play those titles, including dedicated trophy lists. Unfortunately, this means that players can no longer use COD HQ to obtain trophies, and must use the new PS4/PS5 trophy list that will release on July 7th. However, there is a method that players can use to obtain any missing trophies from COD HQ with ease.
How to Earn Trophies in COD HQ with inaccessible titles
For this particular method, there is good news and bad news to obtain these trophies. The good news is that this will autopop a majority of trophies that were previously earned. The bad news is that you will need to complete the title's new list from scratch, with a handful of trophies autopopping due to prior progression.
Important: This method will not pop every trophy for 'Call of Duty®: Black Ops6', as the trophy called
Heavy Ordinance Specialist, is currently unattainable and has been having problems to obtain for new players for almost 10 months (More context on this section will be elaborated on later).
Essential Aspects for this Method to Succeed
#1: This method will work on the PS5/PS4 version of 'Call of Duty HQ', also just called 'Call of Duty®'.#2: Both the new list for either PS5/PS4 and the matching version for COD HQ need to both be downloaded.
Reference of Correct/Incorrect Methods

If you have never earned any trophies in COD HQ and want to earn those trophies for these titles, then you will be relying solely on completing the new trophy list for those older titles. For this example, the PS5 trophy list will be referred to for clarity. Here's a glance at what the COD HQ trophy list currently looks like on July 6th, 2026:
With each release of a Call of Duty title after 'Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®II', they would add any new trophy list for a new COD game and classify it as DLC, with none of these iterations having a Platinum/100% Trophy. With the upcoming release of 'Call of Duty®: MW4', fans are hoping that it is not a part of COD HQ to end the current formatting of the trophy list for the past four Call of Duty titles.Let's say you wish to complete the 'Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®III' trophy list on the PS5 PS5 HQ , then you would need to complete the PS5 trophy list first. Once you have a couple or all of the trophies complete, you will need to open up the PS5 COD HQ, press (
), then (
), and select "Account & Network". After entering the settings, you will see under the 'Online' Category, at the very bottom, the option "Sync Achievements". Press this option, and you will have all trophies earned from that new PS5 trophy list synced to PS5 COD HQ. Please keep in mind that the feature can be a bit buggy, leading to trophies taking anywhere from a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes to successfully pop, as this was the case when they removed 'Call of Duty®: MWII' and 'Call of Duty®: MWIII' from the HQ.
Statement from Activision Support explaining Achievement Syncing for prior titles
While 'Call of Duty®: Black Ops6' will no be using 'Call of Duty® HQ' to launch this title, there will at least be an oppurtinity for players to earn several trophies they may have missed or have yet to obtain, with an exception of one trophy.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops6's Trophy List may remain Broken?
On the release date of Call of Duty®: Black Ops6, October 25th, 2024, the trophy list for the title consisted of standard trophies covering aspects like Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. However, one of these trophies was glitched about two weeks into the launch, specifically
Rush Hour. The description of the trophy read as follows: "Get a Double Kill with the RC-XD in Multiplayer". Although players were meeting the requirement numerous times over, the trophy would not pop. There was a workaround discovered to obtain the trophy, which was mainly accomplished by playing a specific game mode and eliminating the same player twice, with another player in the crossfire to techincally count as a "Double Kill".After numerous reports that the trophy was glitched by a large majority of its player base, Activision Support heard their request and eventually fixed the issue.....6 months later. However, the fix they implemented for that trophy would indirectly glitch another trophy, still causing problems for players today:
Heavy Ordinance Specialist. As it currently stands as of writing, players have been unable to obtain this trophy through legitimate means, unless they had already earned the trophy before the trophy fix was implemented, with no word from Activision Support regarding this problem in their "Known Issues in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" article updated last on June 30, 2026 as of writing.Although the inclusion of a standalone version for PS5/PS4 will allow players to earn the trophies for this title once more, it may also result in players being stuck with a trophy that will remain unattainable unless Activision Support manages to resolve this concern. If there are trophy hunters interested in chasing the achievements in this title, please keep these risks in mind, as you may be stuck with a 96%-98% completion rate depending on Activision Support's communication.
Why It Matters
This update matters to trophy hunters because new releases, platform changes, subscription drops, and community trends can affect what players choose to play, complete, and discuss next.
