A new report has released that has possibly indicated that the 25th Anniversary Special Edition Xbox will be released at a price of 899 Euros, Insider Gaming reveals.A report from Dealabs has shown that through a form of data mining known as JSON Sniffing, the price of the special edition Xbox Series X is going to be about 899 Euros. They conducted the datamining on the back end of websites before announcements are made public to discover that information. It’s possible that more information will be revealed next week with Gamescom right around the corner.JSON Sniffing is a form of content sniffing, where a stream of bytes are analysed to figure out the data within and its format. Researchers use raw data on the backend endpoints of public websites, stores, or update servers to discover information from configuration files about upcoming product data, release dates, or even pricing. The same data sniffing by Dealabs is how they discovered last year a digital edition PS5 that would have less storage – about 825 GB instead of 1 TB of storage.The console appears to be roughly the same price of a PS5 Pro without a disc drive, and about 100 Euros more than a standard Xbox Series X 1 TB, which has an internal disc drive. When the 30th Anniversary Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5 was released, it was 50 euros more than the standard PS5 digital edition.The Dealabs report discovered that the console is going to be released on Black Friday – November 27, 2026 – one of the busiest shopping periods of the year after Thanksgiving. If so, that would be an interesting release date. No pre-order start date has been given, and no US price point has been confirmed, but it is most likely going to be similar in price to the Euro side, about US$899, from prior Xbox pricing history.The 25th Anniversary Xbox Series X will be in translucent green, 1 TB in hard drive storage, and have one translucent green Xbox controller. Both the controller and the console are the same green as was on the original Xbox, and the internal hardware parts will be viewable on both the controller as well as the Xbox Series X itself. Pre-orders for the controller are underway already, to be released in October.
